Forum and Thread Subscriptions - Omniscient - Jul 13, 2018
I have reset all thread and forum subscriptions. A plugin now prevents non-upgraded members from subscribing. You must have L33t, Ub3r, or r00t to use subscriptions. Changes have been made to the upgrade features page.
This was done in order to work on the email notification problems we were having with delayed notification emails. I'm still working on it but I hope that lowering our email delivery rate will increase delivery time.

Well, this had to get done. We already have thread subscriptions based on upgrade but the forum subscriptions were blocked in 1.6x. When we moved to 1.8x I hadn't done the same changes. And this week I reviewed the database and saw hundreds of bot accounts with forum subscriptions.
Now all fixed permanently with a proper plugin.

Small things like this makes HF run smoother and better everyday. I remember when you banned some guy for 6 months in the past for having like 2k thread subscriptions. Thanks for keeping us updated. 🤝

It is pretty useful now if you use the alerts system. You can subscribe with "No Notification" but you will still receive MyAlerts for it.

I've used it a few times in the past, it can be useful for marketplace threads, for example if you're looking to buy something from the members auction section and you want to keep up to date on the current bid. 👍
