VB.NET and XML question - Shadow Reign - Jul 18, 2018 I'm not very familiar with XML or VB.NET. I'm attempting to create an application that can be used to keep track of specific data. Essentially what I want to do is this ![]() Write this data into a database that can be saved by the application upon closing and viewed again at later dates. First I was attempting to just use Folders and text files, but the way I wanted it to work was to input the dates/times/ETC as the file name but windows wont allow some of the characters I need )(:;\/ Then I got thinking what if I keep the database inside the application itself instead of streamreading and writing data to text files and directories. And that's why I am here. Is this possible using an XML file? RE: VB.NET and XML question - Shadow Reign - Jul 18, 2018 If I remove them it makes the file name difficult to understand and I can't find a decent replacement that windows will allow. But now that I know, I'm going to try it with an XML file. RE: VB.NET and XML question - sh@rp - Jul 18, 2018 You can store and retrieve data by using "Xml Serialization". ;) |
