Responsive Theme - Omniscient - Jul 20, 2018
iHydra, Xerotic, and myself will be working on the responsive theme for HF over the next few weeks.
We're at the point where it's #1 on the todo list.
r00t is released
myps is installed
contracts are updated
We've done a lot these past few months. Next big job is the theme.
I actually plan on using the theme started by Phixel. I like how it's simple and I think we'll be able work from it. You can still view it at Knotbb (set as default theme).

The tabs work and it passes the Google Mobile Friendly Test. There is still work to get done for the custom pages and some fine-tuning on pages like usercp. But overall it's not that far from being installed here. We'll run it on HF as a secondary theme in about a week. Then we'll alter it so that all the extra pages HF has functions as needed. Once it's working as we need it then I will make it the default theme and the old theme will no longer be available. I am not a fan of running more than one theme. It's just too much work for updating and customizing.
Oh btw, one big change will be that the forum threads will display in classic postbit only. It will be easier to use that for a responsive theme than the horizontal postbit.

It looks awesome, very minimalistic & modern.
Would it be possible to make a few color options for the theme or let members input their own color #? Maybe it's too much to ask but I think that members would love to set their own color for the theme, instead of using purple one.

This is going to be awesome. I'm glad it's now the top priority to get this done. Hopefully after this is fully completed and implemented we'll see some increase in new users, due to google classifying HF as mobile friendly.
You mentioned you're going to enforce classic postbit because it's easier. If it has to be done then I understand, but if it's possible to keep the alternative, do look into it!
I never used classic postbit on HF, I much prefer the horizontal postbit and I think most users do. If it's not possible we'll just have to adjust, but if there's a possibility I hope it stays in one way or another.

Look's awesome. I would definitely prefer that theme over the current HF one.
I've always used horizontal post bits, at least from what I can remember so that won't be a problem. I hope that the users who do not use the horizontal function won't be starting a rally again, which some users did when their reputation got reset (or when the market ratings where released.)\

Ditto. Never liked Classic postbit, but I guess many of us will have to manage, in case, horizontal postbits doesn't get implemented.
The theme looks decent though.

I think, Omni meant that horizontal postbits will be removed and the vertical/classic (your name, badge etc on the left vertically of a post) will be enforced.

User CP --> Edit Options --> Under (Thread View Options) --> check "Display posts in classic mode". 😝
