Dropship Business question for a non-US citizen - darkx - Jul 25, 2018
Hello everyone,
I don't know if I choose the right section to post this question but anyways...
I want to start out a dropship business. The problem is I am not a citizen of US nor I live in the US, I live in Europe.
So I found a company that is located in the US that offers their warehouse to be used by dropshippers to resell their products in the US.
the problem is they need a reseller certification or how some call it - a Sales Tax Permit.
The laws are really confusing me at the moment because everytime I call someone in the US and ask my question nobody knows the answer.
The question is basically this : Do I need a sales tax permit for EVERY STATE in the US to be able to resell the products that this company has to offer, or do I need the sales tax permit ONLY from the State where the company is actually located ?
The second question is : Do I need actually to register my business in the US to be able to resell products from this company, if yes then what do I need everything for this as a non-US citizen.
I am asking this here because I am pretty sure that someone can answer my question and I really am tired to call again in the US.
I am really thankful if someone can help me out with this.

I don't htink you need to register your business in US if the company is registred there. You are going to work through them, right ?

Yeah right but to be able to work with them they want from me a sales tax permit. Now I just don't know do I need this Sales Tax Permit just for the state where company is located itself or do I need for every state a reseler certification ( or Sales Tax Permit ).
By the way I am planning to resell this products on eBay too.

You need a sales tax permit in the state your company is located in and then you will need to charge that sales tax rate on your site.
