Need Help | Some keys on keyboard arent working - .iniFile - Jul 30, 2018

This is a keyboard on a laptop. Everything was fine a week ago. Everytime I try to use the numbers above the keys, zero through nine, including the special symbols by holding shift + number, it wouldn't display it. I noticed this problem a day ago and I pressed hard on one of the keys and it worked so I was like alright ok. Then today I try to do that again, it wouldn't work. I tried removing the key out of the computer and pressing down on the center where a little white thing is but still nothing. For numbers I'm using the num pad on my right. Only numbers one and four wont work, others are just fine. I updated windows already and already tried updating the keyboard driver.

Background info: A couple on months back I spilled water all over the keyboard, and pressing one key would type the wrong letter or nothing at all, so I waited a week and dried it out and I believe it worked and all the keys were working

It is probably oxidation, you had to put the keyboard in rice to drive water out. If the keyboard indeed had oxidized, you will have to replace it.

This sound as physical damage and I think you won't have luck with fixing it.
You could disassemble laptop and try to clean keyboard and keyboard flat cable port but this most likely won't work.

Best solution would be replacing keyboard to avoid additional damage.

It depends on whether it is a mechanical or technical problem

Here is what you can try:

1. Launch your on-screen keyboard. MAKE SURE that num lock is not turned on, or anything like that.
2. Try booting a another OS via USB to test the keyboard. If the keyboard works, then it could be drivers related or a setting on the OS.
3. Open your laptop and check on the ribbon that connects your keyboard to the motherboard. Look for any signs of damage or oddness.

Good luck. Feel free to PM me if you need anything.
