IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - Abisek - Aug 15, 2018 Please voice your opinion, is privacy a myth ? RE: IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - CyberStrike - Aug 15, 2018 Yes it is big time, even with a VPN according to released documents the NSA has effective attacks against VPN's. https://theintercept.com/2018/08/15/nsa-vpn-hack-al-jazeera-sidtoday/ https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/10/how-the-nsa-can-break-trillions-of-encrypted-web-and-vpn-connections/ Apparently the thought of "collect it all so we know it all" is alive and well https://www.forbes.com/sites/thomasbrewster/2018/08/15/to-catch-a-robber-the-fbi-attempted-an-unprecendeted-grab-for-google-location-data/#3930d32b741d Tell the average citizen "We need this law to prevent %insert threat here%" and they don't care. Then look at Tempora in the UK maybe EU https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempora Here is Germany, which was the focus of https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5858506 ( Forensics Workshop 2) https://www.zdnet.com/article/german-police-hacking-hit-by-volley-of-complaints-can-state-trojan-law-survive/ I tend to take not just my privacy seriously but others privacy, by the average citizen just allowing whatever with no thoughts of how it can impact them in the future. Meanwhile actual threats understand the measures deployed and avoid detection. Like when the NCA post, it's basically public feel good stories, meanwhile what about the members of parliment who were hacked by a bruteforce attack? Meh that just too hard, and the admin was busy didn't see 100's of alerts. There are vulnerabilities for everything. RE: IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - Mr. Robot - Aug 15, 2018 Privacy can still be achieved through extreme measures but relies heavily on how far you are willing to go. Just remember, FEDS don't really touch HF as it will push worse offenders to trying to protect themselves more. It's best they leave HF alone and let users make mistakes and leave a trail. RE: IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - Who Soup - Aug 15, 2018 Privacy is a luxury that not many people can obtain RE: IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - Abisek - Oct 21, 2018 thank you guys for beautiful comments RE: IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - FemaleHuman7 - Oct 21, 2018 Install Libreboot and use tor, new accounts every day, Pretty easy RE: IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - Frankey - Oct 22, 2018 (Aug 15, 2018 10:40 PM)Mr.Noodle Wrote: this guy is right, no privacy. one time my webcam light turned on when i was wankin the weasel That would've been an awkward encounter I assume. RE: IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - xuzum - Oct 22, 2018 Of course it's a myth. That's why I don't even bother with the bullshit people write nowadays about how websites are evil and selling all of your shit. It really doesn't matter what you do. You can use Tor behind 8 proxies all you want; it still won't make it a difference. RE: IS PRIVAY A MYTH NOW DAYS? - Frankey - Oct 22, 2018 (Oct 22, 2018 12:58 AM)xuzum Wrote: Of course it's a myth.
