Does my main get vac banned because i had the same email address on my main and alt - puuma995 - Aug 27, 2018

I recently started cheating in CS:GO, but i didnt want to do it on my main account obviously so i created an alt account and i dont have anything else linking my main and alt account together except i used the same email address and later changed it to a new un-used email address. If i get vac banned, is my main going to get banned also?

could be, yes.
Like it happens when you set the same phone number

No, your main won't get banned. Your main is only going to get banned if they are linked on same phone number.

This. From what I have seen, no damaged is caused by having the same email

Ok thanks guys, now that i started to think about it, i think i actually didnt even use the same email when i created the account but it got me thinking because suddenly my friend got a notification that my trust factor was low on my main account so i thought that maybe my alt got reported and it somehow affected my main. But yeah, i never put my phone number on my alt so i think im safe.

It can affect your trust factor.

Everything you do on your alt can affect your main. The reason your Trust Factor randomly fell is because Valve and/or VACnet is convinced you're cheating on your alt and in response the Trust AI has tanked the Trust Factor of every account you own or have ever owned by checking every account that is linked to your email, billing information, phone number, current physical computer and probably other identifying items that Valve has active under the hood.

You may not get overwatch banned despite all this, because humans have to review your demos, but VACnet almost certainly has submitted you into the queue if your Trust Factor has suddenly plummeted out of the blue like that and despite popular opinion, it is not true that accounts you did not cheat on cannot be VAC banned without phone numbers being shared between the two accounts.  That depends entirely and completely on how VAC detects the cheat you are using on the alternative account. If VAC uses lingering forensic evidence as the detection route all Steam accounts where that evidence is found will be VAC banned, regardless of if the cheat is currently loaded and/or has ever been loaded on that account.
