View New Posts?? - FiftyTwo - Sep 28, 2018

No idea if it's just me but "View New Posts" has completely disappeared on mobile and it's quite frustrating.
Not sure what the direct link to it was either.

Now the button has been replaced by a search button.

Direct link: https://hackforums.net/search.php?action=getnew

Mobile: Click the three lines top right and then 'popular links'

It's there now, thanks.
In my opinion I used View New Posts a lot more than search since search is only used when you need something specific - View New Posts is regularly used to find new threads/discussions.
It is what it is though I guess.

I definitely agree, I use the new posts button way more often.

Awesome that worked for me as well, thank you Xerotic!

We'll work on navigation for those links but I felt it was more important that new users and visitors get better access to search box than a New Posts result. If you're new to a site, you want search.

Refreshed it on mobile and it's there, I'm glad it's something that would bother me when at work.

I’m very proud of myself for using that cached search button to land to this post of yours to fix my issue without having the need to open another unnecessary thread haha.

Thanks Xerotic!

RE: View New Posts?? - Tucka The Cuck Slayer - Sep 30, 2018

I understand why the change was made and I’ll probably get used to after a while but as someone who never uses the search feature, I’ve clicked on it least 100 times today out of a muscle memory trying to get to new posts.

It’d be cool if there a way to have both the search and the new post button up at the top but I understand it may get too squished and not be possible.
