why schools dont have financial education classes? - deltaone - Oct 7, 2018

financial education is the most important skill to have in this central world of capitalism that we live in. why is there not a single school that teaches people from a young age (below 18) on how to invest their money? just to have an overall image in their head on what to expect in life and what to do with financial problems because everyone has financial problems at some point in their life and no one knows what to do about it - in fact most people make it even worse by going in debt because they lack financial education. is the reason why there are no financial education/investing classes  just so the government can produce minimum wage workers to get their job done? just to keep people in line? what do you think?

Because if everyone knew how to earn money and it was a standard formula, everyone would wealthy somehow.

I mean many colleges offer course on how to barrow effectively, and it's usually mixed in with an other course.

"why is there not a single school that teaches people from a young age (below 18) on how to invest their money?"
If you tell someone what to invest their money into and they lose it, that can become a big problem for you. Maybe people just don't want the risk.

Common stock broker degrees include accounting, business, finance and economics.

"is the reason why there are no financial education/investing classes just so the government can produce minimum wage workers to get their job done?"
I'm not sure what to make of that sentence. Most Government employees make far more than minimum wage. The majority of minimum wage jobs out there aren't Government jobs. I don't understand what this class has to do with minimum wage jobs, at all. If someone graduated from college, and didn't take this class you have mentioned, the chances of them working for minimum wage at their job is very low.

no, not to teach how to earn money but to show them all the options what they can do to invest money at a young age in cases of emergencies in the next 10+ years, because as we all know investments take years to generate profit. its up to people if they decide to use that knowledge and invest or just fuck around

In short "Do they do this purposely so they can get people to become broke and start working at their local Walmart/McDonalds"

I still don't understand. If someone went to college, the chances of them working a minimum wage job would be slim.
I don't understand the point here: so the government isn't letting colleges teach people something at college, so those people at college will work minimum wage jobs?

Because this knowledge in capitalism is not for everyone.

A 2015 study suggested that only 9.4% of students could pass the literacy tests about the personal finance. (US)

I saw that France does something similar where all students have some economy classes. It doesn't mention about how you have to invest your money, but it just shows off how banks, institutes work.

That's a good idea, so everyone have the right mindset about finance.

An ideal school system would have classes personalized for each individual.

But then there would not be poor people and high consumption, rich people don't like that heheh
It's all planned to be like that.

I had them, however, they should have been way more in-depth & real-life based.

Everyone would be wealthy if they all are educated

You're taught that if you continue your education, get a degree, you will get a job. They don't want you to believe that you can make money without education cause then you wouldn't need them anymore.
