Sick of saying it but if you ask for recommendations but don't post a watchlist, then don't expect good replies with good anime. If you don't have a watchlist, then either make one, or post a few of the popular anime in the category you want recommendations for.

I've also said it on threads and then they get angry that I can't recommend them 1 anime out of 1,000,000 different shows.

The problem is recommending them something they haven't watched when they might have watched 1000 different anime in the thriller genre.

Generally I find members either don't give a shit about that thread or want to postwhore, although I've seen less of the latter lately. Also doesn't help that the thread isn't stickied anymore for whatever reason

People being fucking competent imagine that. Think it just needs to be updated from an active member. Though this section no longer warrants any stickies or moderators. Section is the deadest I've ever seen it.

Yep. If someone posts in it I usually reply since I don't want to repeat myself in 100 of the same threads. Think rather than taking the time to do your own research (which is what I tend to do when giving recs), people just want something this instant. Just how people tend to be nowadays, but ye many active members aren't around or don't bother to keep up with this section unless relevant.
