AT&T Fiber or comcast 1000GBPS - Pebis - Dec 9, 2018
I am moving and these are my two options.
I currently have google fiber now but that is not offered where I am moving. What wired and wireless speeds do you see with these two companies and how would you rate the service?

I'd probably go with AT&T fiber. I've had bad experiences with Comcast.

Never used AT&T fiber, but Comcast is absolute garbage.

AT&T Fiber is not truly Fiber, they only run fiber to the pole then it turns to copper. Comcast is able to get speeds on DOCSIS 3.0 of up to 1.0gb on a business line which is decent.

No AT&T Fiber in my location, but I have regular AT&T internet and it's pretty solid. Support is nice and they make it seem like they enjoy their jobs when they help you lol.

You can have your speed test say whatever you want, most servers from companies are capped to reserve bandwidth for everyone downloads. Take steam as an example, I have 300 down and I download at like 50mbps tops. I highly doubt you'd ever see a true 1gbps download.

See if Spectrum is available in your area. I know in some larger cities and surrounding areas they offer fiber.
Even if they don't it is 100Mbps which isn't really that bad I don't see why people go crazy over higher speeds which in many cases has no benefit unless you are a really data intensive person.

Honestly, for the price of Comcast you could probably get WOW or something less enhanced and have a better experience. Comcast will sign a contract with you and still bill you over the amount you signed to.
