RHCSA - Polymath - Dec 9, 2018 Questions: 1. Is it worth getting the Red Hat certifications? 2. Will it be useful for someone who wants to get into the Cyber Security field? I can tell you though, you won't get hired for that cert in the security industry. It doesn't hurt but it's not like they are going to look at your resume and go, "oh redhat certified, youre in!". To be specific I am trying to get into Penetration testing and if this certification will be useful then I don't mind getting those certs. It costs £500 in the UK to take the test. If the topics covered don't help as much I will just skip it for now but I am not going to take it off my list. I might do it next year because my uni offers Red Hat Academy material on the second year which is great. And how many certs do you have? Is it not a pain in the ass retaking them every 2-3 years?? And those are some pretty impressive certs you have there, wouldn't you consider doing any of the Cisco ones though? I might aim for the CISSP, I heard its highly valued in the cyber security industry RE: RHCSA - realsunjester - Dec 9, 2018 (Dec 9, 2018 05:58 PM)Godfather6 Wrote: True it is always good to be up to date. I might aim for the CISSP, I heard its highly valued in the cyber security industry I got most of mine working for some security companies, so most were super discounted, which is why i dont have any cisco ones ;) cissp is pretty dank though RE: RHCSA - VoIPv2 - Dec 9, 2018 https://www.rapid7.com/services/training-certification/certification/ https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Category:OWASP_Certification_Requirements Probably the best two in the industry. RHCSA may help with the Linux support side, but Penetration testing requires knowing both and OSX operating systems. And is it really necessary to know OSX operating systems? If I am honest I never use Apple products, I never seen the use of learning them either |
