8 Years of Awesomeness - Hackforums DID Change my Life - Cyam - Dec 16, 2018
Introduction:
Hey HF members, it's Friyie.
I have finally decided to give writing testimonial a shot. I actually want to share my life-story and how one amazing forum made me who I am today.
This testimonial might contain some ass-kissing, but keep in mind that is surely not my goal. All credits I give, will be given for a good reason.
Personal life before Hackforums:
I want to point out that EVERY bit of the story you're about to hear is true. There will be no exaggeration whatsoever.
Back in 2010 I was just a kid, when joining Hackforums I didn't have any plans on what to actually do here. As time passed by, the first day of my high school came along. I was nothing - I had no passion in my life, no friends, no girls and especially no money.
I had zero self-confidence and only thing that mattered to me is League of Legends.
I was stuck in this terrified state where everything seemed lost.
I ended up leaving the school and pausing one year to think it all through. The only person supporting me at that time was my mom although she herself didn't quite know what will happen to me. My dad was furious - although today he says he knew something good would happen, I strongly believe he thought I will be the lost cause.
I'm afraid to look back and I don't even want to nor I have to - I'm a changed man and it all happened solely because of Hackforums.
How Hackforums affected my life:
For god-knows what reason - I started selling my awful graphics to the people of Hackforums and they ended up buying it.
I still remember the first money I received in my Paypal account and how hyped I was that I actually did something good with my life. I didn't know how this would change my life so greatly down the line.
I don't even want to talk that much about money I made through Hackforums - I want to talk about how it changed me as a person.
I want to talk about this big transformation from shy boy to self-confident man.
Business: Being active for almost 8 years helped me understand things I never thought I would - such as making money on the internet, marketing, ideas, thoughts. Everything seems so clear to me right now, everything seems so easy and it all happened because I joined Hackforums
Self-Confidence & Depression: I battled depression and lack of self-confidence for a long time. It got to a point where I couldn't even talk to girls. Through my time on Hackforums I made enough money to buy myself new clothes, new phone and everything that made me a confident person. As time passed by - I battled my depression and lack of self-confidence through hard work on Hackforums. Everything makes sense now only because I joined Hackforums
Powerful People: I met some amazing, smart and rich people that I worked with and still working with up to this day. None of that would be possible if I decided not to join Hackforums.
Skills: Through hard work and dedication I developed new skills. I'd like to point out graphic design as main skill I have "mastered" because I have so much passion for it. Developing this skill made me realize what I want to do in my life.
There are so many things I could write, but hopefully you get the point.
What's next?:
I will continue being active on Hackforums indefinitely because every day is a new challenge on here, every day there is something more to learn.
I'm addicted, but being addicted to something that is making me a better person is not a bad habit - right?

I'd like to personally thank you for making this forum.
God knows I'm not lying - your forum DID in fact change my life.
You're probably not aware, but tons of members think the exact same thing. Maybe you didn't directly affect me (at the end of the day, it was me who decided to take action), but your forum made it possible.
I still stand behind my words: if I ever DO become a rich man - I will make sure to give back to the person who made it possible.
There is one more thing I'd like to mention before ending this thread; if I ever leave Hackforums - I will always remember it as turning point in my life.
