Testing RATs/Crypters - aerohacker - Dec 24, 2018

I see a lot of videos the most people use Windows 10 to test the RATs/Crypters on the host and test the server using VMware guest.

So I have some questions:

1) Which Operating System is better to use/test RATs/Crypters? Windows 7 or Windows 10?

2) Which Virtualization program is better to use/test RATs/Crypters? VirtualBox or VMware?

3) It's better a isolate Hard Drive/SSD/Partition or a Computer/Notebook and use the total power of machine (CPU, HD/SSD, RAM, GPU) or create a Virtual Mahine only for this?

4) It's better to use an AntiVirus/AntiMalware and exclude the RATs/Crypters or have no security programs and disable everything that can exclude or block the hacking programs?

1. Always test on the OS you want to run the software on.
2. It doesn't matter. VirtualBox is free and easier to setup for most people.
3. An actual separate machine is better but a VM generally works fine.
4. Having no security programs makes testing basic functionality easier.
