Ways to hack a target - AceHardware - Jan 3, 2019
So just wanted to know some of the different ways to hack a person. So there's the most basic way which is getting your target to download a file from a link and getting them to run the file and gain access. Then there's using a physical method such as using a USB rubber ducky and launching a payload that way. What I'm curious about is other ways such as compromising someone router or internet and getting a connection that way. Any other methods that are known would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced :D

you are very small minded about this. there are limitless ways and combinations of ways to do things. it's just a matter of the specific situation. giving you a list of "ways to hack a target" is one of the dumbest things I've heard of.

I'm sorry you think that about me but the question still stands as I did not ask the question expecting an insult. So for anyone else reading this thread I'd appreciate it if you could list some alternative methods to getting access to a targets computer.

Xss/spoofing site to force a download, scanning for vulnerabilities to run payloads, mails, pdf, office documents, pivoting from different devices..
are just few examples. There are no technical limits as shamon said.

I would recommend reading up on the subject. Several books cover a multitude of methods.
Here are just a handful of the books that I personally own on the subject, and that I recommend buying/reading:
- The Unofficial guide to ethical hacking
- The hacker's Handbook - by Dr.K
- The entire "Hacking Exposed" series
- The Backtrack Cookbook (now Kali Linux Cookbook)
- Hacking for Dummies
- Learning Metasploit Exploitation and Development
- Learning Nessus for Penetration testing
- Mastering Metasploit
- Penetration testing with the Bash shell
- Python Hacking Essentials
- MANY MANY MORE!
If you want a more defined list, simply search for one of these on Amazon and look at the "Recommended" section at the bottom. Most of the books are pretty affordable, especially if purchased used.
