Can't delete your own threads anymore? [UB3R] - Respect - Jan 9, 2019

Trying to clean up some of my old threads, is it not possible to delete them yourself anymore? It says "If its important enough to Junk please PM a Staff Member" - I'm not trying to bug a Staff member about deleting 30 threads..

I don't think you can delete your threads.

If you go to FBI (Federal Bisexual Illuminati) and plug out the earth internet cable,
HF will be down along with every other website and no one will be able to see your threads anymore.

This is 2019, not 2013. Get with the times, old man.

You cannot junk your own threads. Don't create cringe threads from the beginning.

Quote:It's removed as a feature of Ub3r permanently. I'm tired of threads being junked by members.

That's the end of the abuse.

It's been disabled a long time, a year and a half actually.

It was heavily abused and i'm glad the feature is gone.

Yeah, this feature was misused so often. One feature I'm happy to see gone. Too often I'd see Ub3rs ask for help in a coding forum, get the help they were after, then junk the thread. As if the content within it was no longer valuable. irritating to no end. Especially if, in helping that person, you spent a decent time putting together content. Said content that will never be seen or referenced due to that single feature.

I've written entire essays helping people only for them to junk the threads later.

Ugh, yep, been there too. I can't stand seeing threads closed after help has been received, but at least the content survives. Blows my mind that people would take the first answer that works as final and not allow further ideas.

Function was permanently removed, as said above.

If you post something that you regret, edit the post with something to take its place. If it’s something that might get you in trouble, PM a staff member and politely ask to have it removed (maybe add a few smilies). I’m sure they’d understand and remove it before someone reports it.
If it’s just a post you don’t want on here anymore... well it’s here to stay.

The JUNK feature has been removed because of abusers.

Please have some awareness. Mass removal of content harms the site. Users who do a mass purge of content under the guise of 'just cleaning up some old threads' sacrifice content and harm SEO just to satisfy a needless whim.

If you are caught abusing any other feature to mass remove content, you will be banned and the content will be restored.

No, do not do any of this. Editing your threads solely for the purpose of removing the current content, even if you 'replace' said content, will result in a long ban and the original content will be restored. If you posted a thread that you regret for whatever reason, whether it be due to potential legal or social repercussions or you simply want to 'clean up your account', you're out of luck. Staff does not remove threads upon request, as per the Help Documents. It doesn't matter if you think it will incriminate you. Furthermore, if legally ordered by a court/subpoena, Hack Forums will hand over all content relevant in order to be compliant with the law.

Just because you post something does not mean you own it. You do not have an inherent right to its removal from the platform.

Sorry, but your threads will not be removed.
