How well can you see? - webdev77 - Jan 10, 2019 So long story short, I have decided I don't want to wear contacts anymore. I'm going to do the thing where your eyeballs get sliced open and lasers shot into them. Some people just call it Lasik. With my contacts I could see 20/15. There is a pretty good chance (>80%) I will see at least 20/15 or better following my surgery based on the mappings of my eyes, which is absolutely amazing. I know that most people can only get to 20/20 with Lasik. So HF how well do you see? Would you ever consider ditching your glasses/contacts? Update: All is good here. I do indeed now see 20/15 as expected without any contacts or glasses. RE: How well can you see? - Opticals - Jan 10, 2019 I hate wearing my glasses but without them I can only see well about 20 feet and then everything gets a little blurry. I remember when I first got glasses and putting them on, everything got so vivid and clear. I’d love to get Lasik but it honestly scares the fuck out of me. RE: How well can you see? - Bacardi Cola Lime - Jan 10, 2019 Wearing glasses when at home and contact lenses when I'm out. I want to get rid of them both, enough. I plan on doing eye surgery after summer 2019, already putting money aside. How much the operation you look at will cost? RE: How well can you see? - clownzfu - Jan 10, 2019 Glasses help me see but im able to change lenses to another set of frames without glasses on so i guess i see ok haha. RE: How well can you see? - oRequiem - Jan 10, 2019 I feel like I see somewhat fine, but need glasses for when I drive. I can see why a little bit, hard to even see people's faces when they're kinda far away. I think it will depend on your location RE: How well can you see? - Bacardi Cola Lime - Jan 10, 2019 (Jan 10, 2019 09:37 AM)flavoral Wrote: I think it will depend on your location They've asked me for 800-1000 euros per eye. RE: How well can you see? - frankln - Jan 10, 2019 never had to wear glasses even though i've been on screens whole life RE: How well can you see? - Stevensan - Jan 10, 2019 I had also lasered my eyes in 2006. I had lasered my eyes with PRK. It was very painful. Now they have much better techniques. The best way to laser your eyes is with TransPRK. It is not painful and your eyes heal much faster. Lasering your eyes with Lasik is not good. Your cornea will never heal. RE: How well can you see? - Dennis - Jan 10, 2019 My bro in law did it last year. He was at +5 diopter ( idk wtf its called in English ). Payed €4000. Everything went well :) I am at +1 on both eyes but that's not much. I sometimes forget my glasses at home lol At this point in time, I certainly wouldn't go through the same process. RE: How well can you see? - Winds - Jan 10, 2019 I don't have glasses/lenses at the moment, so I guess I can see pretty well RE: How well can you see? - FaggNigg - Jan 10, 2019 wearing glasses all my life, aint that bad since they add some fashion bonus as well RE: How well can you see? - luke - Jan 10, 2019 I have a stigmatism which means my vision is shitty without glasses. RE: How well can you see? - lexususa - Jan 10, 2019 Did you hear about the blonde news reporter who committed suicide after receiving Lasik treatment? Maybe you should stick with contacts. My vision has always been superior, maybe it has deteriorated a bit since my childhood but, not much. RE: How well can you see? - Roytoy - Jan 10, 2019 I got a lasic surgery for my eyes (had -3.5 and used to wear glasses) Now I think I only got like a quarter in both eyes. (surgery was like 6 years ago) |
