The characters in this episode are Edward Elric, Alfonse Elric, Izumi Curtis, Mason AKA "The Masked Man" and Wrath. (Winry is also in the episode but doesn't play a big enough role for me to talk about her.) Edward and Alfonse are the two main characters of the anime, Edward is the older brother, and Alfonse is the younger brother. Edward is short for a guy his age and he absolutely hates being called short. Alfonse currently doesn't have a human body, due to losing it when they tried to bring back their mother during a failed human transmutation. While Alfonse lost his entire body, Edward only lost an arm and a leg. Edward was able to save Al's soul by imbuing it to a suit of armor with a blood seal. Izumi is their teacher, a highly skilled Alchemist who runs a butcher shop with her husband Sig Curtis, and their assistant, Mason. Mason was the "Masked Man" that the two boys encountered when they were first on Yock Island. Wrath (Not to be confused with FMA: Brotherhood's Wrath) is a homunculus child that was created as a result of a failed human transmutation attempt by Izumi, when she tried to bring back her dead child. Izumi also lost parts of her insides as a result to the failed transmutation. Wrath follows the two boys throughout the island stealing their food and watching them from within the woods. He later reveals himself once Izumi comes back to pick up the boys.

I chose this episode mainly because of the message, All is One and One is all. In this episode, Edward and Alfonse revisit Yock Island where they have previously been when they were younger. Their teacher Izumi left them stranded on this island as part of their training, and thus are unable to use any Alchemy while on the island, they must only survive with basic primal instincts and survival methods, and to discover the meaning behind "All is One, and One is All."  Their conclusion to the meaning is "The world is the all, and i am the one" which makes a lot of sense to me. This mainly sticks out to me because "All is One and One is All" actually does have a deep meaning. We are all apart of the universe, and we are all one.  When looking at it from a spiritual perspective, it reminds me of Oneness, and being one with yourself, while you realize that we are all apart of the universe, all life is in a way interconnected. The cycle of life begins with Life and ends with death, but that's not the end of your spiritual journey. Life and death, are as one. Your spirit will continue to live on, to reach a path of enlightenment. To reach the divine. I personally believe in reincarnation, where your spirit will reincarnate into a new life, to continue its journey. Life cannot exist without Death, and Death cannot exist without Life.
