I'm being sued for Libel: a Google Review - Mr. Moe - Mar 4, 2019
It looks like the business has been attacked with a spam attack on Google Reviews. (about 15 negative reviews)
Since I have a small claims court case against him, he thinks it's me and I'm getting e-mails saying I will be getting sued.
He wants me to "remove all comments, withdraw from my court case and settle my case with the BBB". In doing so, he will refund my money owed to me from small claims court. ALTHOUGH, I will be admitting to Libel (as he wrote in the Statement of Settlement)
On the google review he replied to each spam and said: "Efforts are being made to track the IP and names of the publisher"
I've commented ONCE on Google reviews saying: "poor services", other than that - all those IP's are not mine.
I understand you guys are lawyers but what would you do in this situation?

They agreed to pay me back $1000 if I withdraw the case.
My main concerns were:
If I was going to be accused because I'm the only one that has an outstanding court case with him - which means I'm the only one that would be "out to get him and the business"
If my one comment will be classified as "Libel".
From the reaction you guys give, I hope you guys are right. Thanks for the support!

I have not received judgment yet, I have a hearing in small claims court at march 29th
He said if I don't withdraw from smalls claims, he will push libel on me and take it to the supreme court.

Cannot push libel on, I mean he can, but its only going to bleed him since its on him to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. You are innocent until proven guilty.
What kind of services are we talking? Do you have evidence that he did not fulfill said contracted services? Do you have a contract where it states that you paid him for services?

It depends on how much this means to you and if you can be bothered to continue. If it was me and the company had wronged me into a salty state I would have already dropped a link in the Ice Piss community that would rock the fucking boat for sure. As for proving, for all we know he has deliberately attacked his own reviews to frame you. You just don't know and as for IP's its not just a case of IP's, your IP is not the sole piece of identifying information.
As you have not provided us with any sort of background on this case nobody here can make a decision, essentially making your mind up for you. Its a personal choice that only YOU can make and something I personally dislike.
Stupid yanks suing each other all the time.

Sorry I read your thread too fast. Regardless this shouldn't change your outcome, they won't find evidence therefore you'll more than likely win both cases with a decent lawyer.
