Lets say i have hacked an facebook account. Is it possible to read his messages without the message notification icon to disappear?I dont want to get him to understand that someone else is reading his messages.

Nope, not really. That notification will launch as soon as you read it.

Not that I'm aware of no. Your best bet is that it's an average user that doesn't check the mail often.

Keylogging or phishing are the best ways I know of.
Someone I knew made an exact copy of a facebook page that linked to a usefull site (was send by friends so most trusted it) that said:
You are leaving Facebook and going to an http page (not secured).

It was made like a fb page, but running on his server so he actually took all data.

You just need to know peoples weak spot! Like if its about special shoes etc, many woman will fall for it, if its about gaming many gamers, as long as you make sure
that thers a reason why its http! otherwise some will get suspicious! reason: no login or security needed, theres nothing to hack etc besides doing it for fun so who cares

If the person is not online at the time you're about to read the messages, you could read them and mark them again as "unread" (Mark as unread, to the right of every conversation)

It deissappears only for the current session. If you delete cache and cookies and log back in it will show it. I'm not a 100% sure but when I was using facebook I remember being annoyed by these notifications even thou I have read the message but marked it as "unread"
