I think because what if someone has a question about medication the doctor gave them for their mental illness or about how to deal with depression that that relates to the subject of health.
Also, a lot of famous hackers have autism and/or mental illness. I don't see why its inappropriate, especially in a subforum that isn't really related to the main subject of HF.
Just a suggestion.

And the description for Health Wise section:
"For the benefit of good health we have this personal life forum. Topics include workouts, healthy eating, hygiene, mental health and even medical questions. "
I'm not sure what you're suggesting too. Mental illness and Mental health are two sides of the same topic. When you discuss mental illness you're trying to get them mentally healthy.

In my opinion, I don’t think it’s needed. If the forum section was super busy then yeah I would see it useful :)

They would have to have a serious mental illness if they think hackforums.net will give them a valid answer to their question.
HF isn't a space for doctors to get together and share medical advice. If someone has a question regarding medication they should ask a certified professional, not a bunch of randoms on a forum.

You're better off getting mental health help with a licensed professional, especially if it's bad enough if you need advice for something.

Yes, Brian Krebs does have autism but he's a script kiddie, not a hacker. 😏
But yeah, I kinda agree with everyone else that we don't need a section for mental health specifically. I don't think there's enough threads to sustain it, and I think the current sections deal well as both Innuendo & Health Wise cover those issues.
