Hello,
I'd like to ask if there is another way to get access to a locked rar archive without having to bruteforce the pw.
Trying to bruteforce it seems to be ineffective and slow to me.

Short answer is no. The reason is because when you use a password on winrar it encrypts the archive with that password. So you need to decrypt the archive rather than just removing the password. So unfortunately you need to brute it in less you can find some kind of weakness in the encryption algorithm.

You can try it with John the Ripper. Its a bit faster :P
