but doesnt let me use the usb and view the files, but i see sandisk sancruzer drive dected

Assign a letter to that drive , you won't be able to use it unless it has a letter

but it can also be a corrupted partition. what you should do is go to your disk manager. and make sure the partition is mounted or online. sometimes a USB stick when plugged into a new computer. be seen in offline mode which you would not be able to assign a drive letter. however your drive manager should help you figure out the issue. if you need any help if you post a picture of your drive manager if we can probably help you.
