Is it me or most Youtubers talk too slowly? - James Burnham - Jul 13, 2019

I am watching most tutorial videos at 1.25x because at 1.00 they are too casual and slow. What about you?

louder and slower. It's so they can target kids who are overhyped and stretch the video to +10min to get more ad placement in the video.

Yeah, I also noticed that they make the videos longer than it is needed. Does that really make them more money though? Don't people end up un-subbing when they find out you waste their time?

well actually there is much difference about written tutorial & live doing especially when he making a video for his channel he will try his best to make it perfect in minimum takes so maybe that's why he just doing carefully or also depends that maybe your fast learner 😊

Its almost as if they're marketing themselves for the children watching!

Yes, a lot more money is made from 10 min+ videos. And frequent viewers of YouTubers are accustomed to videos being stretched to 10 mins.

they need to hit that 10 minute mark its the new strategy to keep the vid longer

but yea honestly u can kinda watch any vid on 1.25x because it speeds it up just enough for it to be still understandable and save some time too.

tutorial vids are the absolute worst they b like this: bad intro
hello everyone its me [sponsors channel name] back at it again with another tutorial video
this time were doing a tutorial on [tutorial subject/video title]. many ppl have suggested it to me
so i thought hey i could help some ppl out by doing this tutorial, so if u do run into this problem and
this video does help u out, then DONT FORGET TO SMASH THE LIKE BUTTON!!! WITH YOUR FOREHEAD and
if youve just found my channel, then DONT FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE because i upload [upload schedule] oh and
youtubes new update doesnt always notify u when i upload every tutorial ever so dont forget to HIT THE BELL NEAR the subscribe button and
so ull get notified of all the latest tutorials. so yeah as i said today we are doing a tutorial on [tutorial subject] so lets jump right into it slowly clicks and explains every single little detail like every viewer is 3 year old 3 clicks and 1 option changed for all the tutorial, total time to do it: 49 seconds
so yea as you guys can see i dont have [problem the video is about] anymore it all is fine and
hopefully if you were smart enough to follow along then...you probably fixed it too so as u guys can see i am a trusted person and
u should HIT THE LIKE BUTTON if this video did help you out and SUBSCRIBE TO my channel if it helped you out and
dont forget to HIT THE BELL BUTTON if you want to be notified whenever the next tutorial comes out
my name is [channel name] and peace out bad outro
total time: 10:01
time needed to actually follow the tutorial: 49 seconds

nowadays the first place i look for tutorials isnt even youtube, i just look it up online because websites dont ask me to hit the like button and subscribe 10 times
(if theres nothing online then i look it on yt). pause the vid immediately, check description, maybe the written version is there. no? ok then watch the video sped up 2x and place my cursor on the time bar so i can see WHENS THE FIRST SECOND THAT THE YOUTUBER MOVES THE MOUSE CURSOR so i know somethings about to happen

dont watch tutorials on youtube woof

It's quite annoying that yoytube on mobile doesn't have the option to change speed

Yes. short videos mostly only have 1 ad-break, videos longer than 10min have multiple ad-breaks. Which can make the creator a lot more money.

Nah it used to be where people used to be called out sell-outs for adding too many ad-breaks, but now it became the normal with all the demonetizations. People got used to it, and most understand that. However there are unwritten rules like for example for a 10-20min video usually creators only put between 3-5 ad-breaks. That doesn't mean that there aren't people who abuse it tho

Yeah, I agree.
That's why I stopped watching most of these bad channels.

You need to target kids if you want to grow on any social media. They're the best demographic for monetization. They will easily buy all your shit over-priced merch, watch all your videos, etc...

Unlike us, most adults don't spend shitloads of time on the internet. Kids do... kinda sucks for us as the most popular content is often babyfood.

Yes, that is basically how the tutorials are. So what do you use alternatively? I think that blogs also have some times crappy content with the correct keywords just to draw you in and make money from ad impressions. Usually, I find quality content on Reddit, Quora and forums but sometimes I need fully detailed guides and not just tips. What do you use most of the times when trying to learn something new?

RE: Is it me or most Youtubers talk too slowly? - TheChaosKiller - Jul 13, 2019

It's rife with copycats, so when one clocked the fact they needed 10min+ videos for the most advertising, and to be able to put down more view minutes, everyone else started doing it too. It's a welcome departure from those guys that start off with "HEY THERE YOUTUBE, OMG DO I HAVE A GOOD ONE FOR YOU TODAY AHFOWIHEGWJEFIWOJF" though, I hated that trend of presenting!

Quora, books.
Reddit for others opinion.

Searching over any search-engine is not so accurate because it serves you what you want to see.
