Blackhat SEO Competitor Attacks - yogibear - Jul 21, 2019

Im sorry if this post is redundant and i didnt find the right thread..

What opportunities could exist for blackhat seo attacks to harm rankings of competitors? Kind of spamming bad links?

Does anybody have experience in that?

best regards

You could try one of those fiverr gigs for thousands of backlinks and use an exact-match keyword, but it's not guaranteed to work. IIRC Google changed the way spammy backlinks work so that they don't have a negative impact, but also don't have a positive effect.

Hi,

Take my advice, work on your site's ON-PAGE SEO, and create/maintain a strong linking strategy for your website. As Google now consider quality links more powerful, and those spammy links won't affect someone's ranking unless a healthy competition is there. The only way to derank or surpass your competition is by maintaining a positive score for your website. I know it sounds evident, but the truth is every single factor is responsible, not just backlinks!

Blackhat deranking someone's website is difficult due to this tool: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2648487?hl=en

You can also do a canonical attack or a 302.
Duplicate content is another way.

If you could somehow successfully file DMCA complaints, it will be removed from the Google listings altogether. I think it takes a minimum of 3 per domain or something like that, but for all I know it could be as little as 1 complaint.

I could see this happening.

Anything that involves reporting a site to Google will likely have it less likely to be favoured to your own site.

Someone trying to negatively effect your SEO could do so a few ways.
1. Would be blatant obvious spam clicks to your website so it triggers google to do their thing, high bounce rate, etc..

2. They can associate it with bad articles (wouldn't effect SEO directly, but more so social proof). 3g/4g proxies -> bot -> site with fake reviews on your site (bot spends time here), proceeds onward to visit your site after. Vise versa. Enough times will allow for there to be seemingly be a connection between the fake reviews site and your own so that when someone is searching for your site the search engine will show both your site next to the bad review site.
