The Amazonia is burning: - tonitones - Aug 21, 2019

I don't know if you've heard this but the Amazon Forest has been burning for 2 week already.

"Over 1000KM² of the Amazon Forest has burnt to the ground in the last 16 days. Completely out of control. The rainforest provides more than 20% of the WORLD'S OXYGEN. Zero international coverage. Allegedly; it was started intentionally to 'clear lands for agriculture and drive out indigenous people'."

I haven't heard anything from local news or TV about it from where I live. I have only seen it on social media.

The Big Agriculture businesses want the land, sadly I am beginning to think this is the elites end game. Maybe they feel threatened by the internet and social media with people coming together for the good of humanity. These past years they have been more aggressive than I have ever seen in my life time. Seems like they want to take it all and are hurrying to do so... Insanity at it's core.

I believe it's on week 3. Sad to see it happening. They don't expect it to survive. All for development. Money truly is the root of all evil.

Oh my that is a huge amount of forest. Crazy, I guess it clears debris and helps richen the soil for the next generation of trees.

I wonder what caused the fire.

RE: The Amazonia is burning: - Manks - Aug 21, 2019

The reason why its not being covered is that it was intentional. They've been trying to do this for years; apparently everyone was distrasted enough for them to do this.

They're saying that it was intentional and Brazil's president is allegedly behind it to clear the land for agriculture shit.

Didn't you know an old church is more important than some lousy trees...

This is an attack to the humanity as we know it. Fortunately Internet is still a great place to bring important news up.

RE: The Amazonia is burning: - Tyler Durden. - Aug 22, 2019

damn, if this was intentional then its really crazy and couldn't possibly be legal in any way lol

its cuz the Notre-Dame was in front of everyone and everyone recorded what happened but this's a forest. It's true its more important to save nature but sadly no one cares for trees that keep us alive.

The photos are also outdated but still, fires are up 80% this year from same time last and are still happening so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Quote:The official figures show more than 75,000 forest fires were recorded in Brazil in the first eight months of the year — the highest number since 2013. That compares with 40,000 in the same period in 2018.

Forest fires are common in the Amazon during the dry season, which runs from July to October. They can be caused by naturally occurring events, such as by lightning strikes, but also by farmers and loggers clearing land for crops or grazing …

Activists say the anti-environment rhetoric of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has encouraged such tree-clearing activities.

In response, Mr Bolsonaro, a long-time climate change sceptic, accused non-governmental organisations of starting the fires themselves to damage his government’s image …

… The Amazon Environmental Research Institute (Ipam) has stated the recent increase in the number of fires in the Amazon is directly related to deliberate deforestation.

While the exact scale of deforestation in the rainforest will only be certain when 2019 figures are published at the end of the year, preliminary data suggests a significant rise.

The National Institute for Space Research (Inpe) tracks suspected deforestation in real-time using satellite data, sending out alerts to flag areas that may have been cleared…

Yeah this is really sad to be honest, seeing it on my Facebook feed all the time and on the news :/
