URL hackforums changing when linking a thread - C++ - Aug 23, 2019 I have seen some forums around doing this. The process: When I write a link to the hackforums and a thread (ex: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5151310) it would only appear the part of the thread. This: /showthread.php?tid=5151310 instead of: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5151310 I think it's cool and looks better. I think it could save up bytes. RE: URL hackforums changing when linking a thread - Omniscient - Aug 24, 2019 You mean internal link rewrites? If anything I'd like to see them being given the page titles anchor text. We started to do that btw. Example is when you post a forum link. Site News Eventually I'd like to consider doing it for threads and other internal links. RE: URL hackforums changing when linking a thread - Jonzi - Aug 25, 2019 I would prefer 'titles anchor text' like omni said with example above, because thats good for SEO , so can get more easier show up on search engine. I'm not positive whether you replied to this one thread or not, however the concept was very similar to this only for members however. It was a tagging/mentioning concept. I've seen this in use on other forums before as well and it could be very useful for HF. Example: Instead of linking my profile like so; https://hackforums.net/member.php?action=profile&uid=777 It would just be: @Cooligan - and then would redirect to my profile. |
