SideProjects.net | A platform where you can share your side projects - sakun - Sep 4, 2019

Hey guys,

Personally I work on a lot of different side projects and I'm sure a lot of you here do as well. I've realized that there was really no platform where you could share your side projects and garner feedback on them, so I recently launched a platform where you can share them :).

Feel free to post your side projects on it: sideprojects.net

For anyone curious, it's been built using an older version of Vulcan and Meteor.

Feel free to leave suggestions here as well.

Cool stuff, I don't know much about what Vulcan is but I looked it up and it looks like a React + GraphQL thing? Not sure if you used anything special for your GraphQL server but if GraphQL interests you check out https://hasura.io/ allows for some REALLY fast backend iterations. :)

Get rid of the emojis, makes it seem like a 13 year old girl built it. Not a fan of the layout either, I feel like it's lacking.

Otherwise, great concept.

Yep you're right. I'll check that out, seems cool :)

Yeah I might swap the emojis for icons or something. Was trying to give the sidebar a bit of character haha. Any suggestions on how I can improve the layout?

Thanks for your feedback!

Dumbest thing I've heard all year. The use of emojis are a lot more common in web and mobile apps nowadays. In my opinion, they give the websites/apps a welcoming and friendly tone.
