Remote Desktop for VB - wingers - Oct 2, 2019

Hi all

Firstly great forum, so glad I found it!

I have been looking at source code of various RAT's to learn how to achieve different things with VB. One of things I want to be able to do is replicate the remote desktop functionality of say QuasarRAT but using VB rather than C#

Out of all the RAT's and other tools I have tried QuasarRAT was the only one where remote desktop / remote control of desktop seemed to work properly, most others either mouse couldn't be controlled or the positioning of cursor relative to control was completely out of sync / position.

I have tried to convert some of the QuasarRAT code to VB but without success as it uses so many bits which are C# specific.

Does anyone have any suggestions for some VB.NET source I could look at to learn how to achieve what I want?

Have already tried obvious sources such as Google, GitHub, NuGet etc

Thank you

LimeRAT is a great source to look at, and the FPS is even the same. I can't remember if it was accurate or not though.

Thanks for your response, I had looked at that before but couldn't even get it to show my client.  Had another go today and after much changing of code it showed my client okay, but remote desktop doesn't seem to work very well - I have screenshot which shows issue but can't attach it!

Initially it was only showing a small part of desktop so enabled dpiaware in app.manifest now it shows screen but in 9 small bits rather than one joined up image

You can use the Windows gdi library to take screenshots like with the example code I made below, and on top of that I would use xor to calculate changes to reduce network usage and send only portions of the image over UDP.
