HF NSFW Version - LaFerrari - Oct 21, 2019

I remember there used to be an option here for nsfw in the past, does that still exist?

This

Just block hackforums.net/images/logo/* to remove the banner.
Block hackforums.net/uploads/avatars/* to remove avatars
You can globally disable signatures in user options, I believe.

I mean fair enough my previous post was last year or so but it was still the same answer lol.

RE: HF NSFW Version - Cooligan - Oct 22, 2019

I believe this is the most recent statement from Omni regarding the NSFW version of HF.

RE: HF NSFW Version - Omniscient - Oct 22, 2019

Here is my current stance.

I don't want the feature back. It worked under a subdomain. It requires extra DNS configurations along with server redirects. I can't be sure it will negatively effect SEO but I'm positive it doesn't offer me any positive SEO, so under that risk I can't justify experimenting with this.

It was a slightly cool feature to have. I admit that. But I don't think we need it. Don't be ashamed of using HF.

RE: HF NSFW Version - Meow - Oct 22, 2019

I believe Omniscient stated he won't bring it back as it needs more resources, or something like that.

Can't find the thread.

EDIT: Yeah.. he beat me to it.

RE: HF NSFW Version - Coyote - Oct 22, 2019

I would never be ashamed of using Hackforums. I don't think I was around when it was an option.

RE: HF NSFW Version - Omniscient - Oct 22, 2019

Also did a lot of core edits to MyBB to make it work. I'm not a fan of core edits and prefer to minimize them.

RE: HF NSFW Version - Soulmate~っ☆ - Oct 22, 2019

Someone could probably make a userscript for this to remove elements that you wouldn't want to see while browsing in public, for example tick boxes with "Remove logo, remove banner, remove signatures, remove avatars" etc

Which Flat Darkness did do to an extent. It had an NSFW option to enable that would hide the logo, avatars and signatures. I'm sure someone can make a standalone faster than I can 😏 . But yes, it's doable.

This.
Why be ashamed to use HF?

I can almost guarantee that even if someone around you saw the site you're browsing they're not going to think either A; you're some hacker or B; know anything about HF or the community that surrounds it. I mean it's not like we're talking about an NSFW version of PornHub here. 😏

Just started using Flat Darkness. Is it updated?  🤐

EDIT: Because I like it lol so I want to keep using it.  😈

EDIT #2: Ok, looks like you haven't updated in ages lol

RE: HF NSFW Version - Astrogen - Oct 22, 2019

You can hide the logo with an adblock (select element) and hide the avatars and signatures from the usercp.

Some people have NSFW avatars and signatures. Also, it's not that people are ashamed of HF it's just the stigma that revolves around the word "hack" Those are my reasons why I'm pro NSFW version.
