Figured i’d drop a really cool research paper I found from 2014 that allows you to get someones IP address and even their mobile OS such as IOS or Android just from using a tool like Zmap and measuring the response packets from a ping request for example to various different phone carrier IP space. While doing this you’re also spamming the target with messages to create network traffic which can be dectected through automated analysis tools to measure slight differences in variables such as round about times for example. This research paper is amazing because you don’t even have to send an IP grabber link as it requires zero user interaction, all it requires is sending chat packets and ping packets.
