'ello World - r3dcoat - Nov 10, 2019

Hi guys,

I have been lurking in the shadows for a while and finally decided to make an account.

Mainly looking into network and system exploitation at the moment. Reference material suggestions are welcome!

Can't wait to meet some more like-minded people!

Peace ✌

Your first thread and already L33T. Man, you're really fast.
I hope you will like HF and the many features it got. If you like, play the Hack Game too, it is pretty fun.

System explorations are hard, but network should be easier for you to do I assume. I wish you good luck and a happy time.

Thanks man

I already had the bitcoin there back from when I used to mine thanks to that sweet free uni electricity! So I felt like L33T was a worth while step, since this community is the most active I have found so far.

Yeah the hack game is interesting, looks like a bit of a slow burn.

Networking is my area of expertise, systems seem like the next step for me but it is a daunting step.

That's great!
About networking, do you mean like WPA hacking or Router configurations like Cisco routing etc? Just wondering, because networking is a pretty broad term. I forgot a lot about the terminology, yet I still have some background knowledge haha.

More like Routing and Switching, something along that, which is really good, i really love seeing people like OP who are interested in CCNA overall

Umm so a lot of my knowledge comes from different wifi auditing methods and MiTM variations using hardware I have made. Most of the MiTM exploitation was basically a more interesting way to teach myself about packet structures. I also have a fair bit of experience with standard metasploit, burpsuite and maltego.

If I am honest I am not 100% sure if this all classes as networking but I seem to use my networking qualifications a lot when completing different tasks.

Yeah I definitely want to get my CCNA at some point, I already have some rough equivalent certs (different vendor for work). but CCNA is a pretty sure standard.

Yeah man, the cert is totally worth it, when i took mine i literally found a job in the next 1-2 weeks and got my money back, however i never did it for the money just wanted to point out it's something companies are looking for and as long as you are dedicated it will pay out eventually.

Thanks, it is good to hear people vouch for certs that actually get people jobs. I know my certs definitely helped get foot in the door but most of my hiring was down to a few "interesting" technical interviews. But the certification market is very saturated now with some certs that are definitely not going to help you move up the job ladder.

Cisco does have lot of vendors, so eventually you will never stop learning, I'm working on CCNP right now. Make sure to dm me whenever you have questions bro
