DVI port? - Shorthand - Nov 20, 2019

Hi, I'm trying to connect my Xbox to my PC monitor but it don't have HDMI, i tried to get a HDMI Male to VGA (as you can see in picture) but i keep getting 'no signal' picture with no source button.

In the picture attached the white port, what is it.. do you think that will work with my xbox?

The DVI port in your image is called a DVI-D port. There are many types of DVI ports and they're not all made equally.

Now I do not understand Xbox to DVI-D. In some cases can do a "passive" adapter. A passive adapter is just a straight connection. BUT in some cases, you require an "active" adapter. The difference is the active adapter converts to signal and that is important and required. There is a substantial price difference between them so hopefully someone can tell you which you need.

I don't know what output the Xbox has. But it should have a HDMI output.
You can get HDMI to DVI cables, and that should solve your issue. Then just plug your speakers or headphones into your Xbox.
