If you can find a problem, feel free to comment. 🤣 I would appreciate if experienced Python programmers grabbed some popcorn instead.

Python 2.x and Python 3.x syntax is used in a very problematic way.

The empty if statement will return an indentation error...

^ These both work in Python 2.7

Code
print out
print(out)

Line 16: " placed between quotation marks.
Line 24: file opened without proper flag, should be "r"

The empty if statement will return an indentation _error_...

Like why even print "out" twice with the two different means? What does that accomplish exactly? :D Just like he curls with os.system and subprocess...

On the indentation, that really bothered me. If you watch the episode, he continues to type leaving it like that. I know the guy is a hack extraordinaire, but no linter?

Not saying Mr. Robot has no values to "teach"/exemplify, but it is a TV show (yes the title of the video is "decryption", not my video, not "the point" either). The code is not gonna haxx0r the FBI or whatever... Doubt the producers/creators necessarily "want to" encourage scraping/keylogging/etc (OT code), just make people aware/interested... Doubt if you actually mean this but: you speak of it as if "Rami Malek" (Elliot) is the haxx0r extraordinaire, and or that this is not industry standard...

Mr. Robot is too concerned with every privacy/minute detail, he would need "to code his own linter", then copy that to a external storage (not a practice he uses). Then re-validate that linting algorithm on each machine every-time he decides to destroy his builds. Cuz what if the FBI haxx0red his algorithm targeting a backdoor, then he could end up being the one being haxx0red. O noes, not Meesta Robot (to me, best to pronounce it like a Spanish maid/whatever). Because it was an effing setup tha whole time, and Elliot didn't even kno. #MrRobotLies #MindBlown
