Theorretical Antivirus (uses small memory & uses 30 different virus scanners) - White Hat Disciple - Dec 8, 2019 yo i dont wana be a noob here and disappoint my brothers but i had a concept iawanted opinions on. i want to use the java language to create a program that in a manner determines new files that appear on ur computer and itll upload the file to a free virus scanner utilizing 30 paid antiviruses i thought its a good idea cuz u cud NOT give privalges to new file until boolean is set to true as passing the virus scan test. i was really itnerested in makinga simplistic virus scanner. wud this even work RE: Theorretical Antivirus (uses small memory & uses 30 different virus scanners) - Nyx - Dec 9, 2019 (Dec 8, 2019 09:11 PM)White Hat Disciple Wrote: yo i dont wana be a noob here and disappoint my brothers but i had a concept iawanted opinions on. i want to use the java language to create a program that in a manner determines new files that appear on ur computer and itll upload the file to a free virus scanner utilizing 30 paid antiviruses i thought its a good idea cuz u cud NOT give privalges to new file until boolean is set to true as passing the virus scan test. i was really itnerested in makinga simplistic virus scanner. wud this even work I could be completely mistaken but I believe you would need to send a request from the online virus scanner to your java application so your java application can receive the data. Also you would need an API for whatever virus scanner you are using for your program to simply upload directly within your application itself Your best bet would be making your own online virus scanner and then creating your own API for your soon to be java application. It's a pretty cool idea, but not practical. The odds of getting this to work in a practical aspect are slim to none, however it is an entirely possible concept. Hell yeah, 13 year old me would've been all over this idea! Unfortunately, the way business is conducted in "the business world" makes this close to implausible. Imagine having to keep a company afloat while having to split profits between AT LEAST 30 other businesses, as well as your own employees, as well as possible licenses, lawyers and bookkeepers to draft contracts, a good set of lawyers when one of your 30 competitors tries to drown you in your bills so they can acquire your idea for pennies on the dollar. Sorry, my man. It's just not do-able. RE: Theorretical Antivirus (uses small memory & uses 30 different virus scanners) - White Hat Disciple - Dec 11, 2019 BROTHAS IMA PROV EU WRONG HAHAHAHAHAA RE: Theorretical Antivirus (uses small memory & uses 30 different virus scanners) - GruntStyl - Dec 11, 2019 Our software uses the VirusTotal API as a scanning option against their 70 AV products they support. However, you are not allowed to write software that utilizes that power to be used as an Anti-Virus. It goes against their TOS. And rightfully so. Further more I feel like it could cause issues even if you were to write your own API and were hosting everything via your own servers. RE: Theorretical Antivirus (uses small memory & uses 30 different virus scanners) - White Hat Disciple - Dec 14, 2019 lads it took me awhile to figure it out im not the smatest but it works! if someone could join me in on the project as a hobby i'll pay. will post source code for proof RE: Theorretical Antivirus (uses small memory & uses 30 different virus scanners) - Lib - Dec 15, 2019 (Dec 14, 2019 08:09 PM)White Hat Disciple Wrote: lads it took me awhile to figure it out im not the smatest but it works! if someone could join me in on the project as a hobby i'll pay. will post source code for proof Nobody here is saying the fundamentals wont work. Plenty of people have cool ideas about projects, It's hard to calculate the possibility of it succeeding without you having any knowledge of the topic. Since you're on Hackforums asking for advice, it's clear you know very little. RE: Theorretical Antivirus (uses small memory & uses 30 different virus scanners) - AsSaSs@iN - Dec 18, 2019 Ehile your idea and intentions are noble, these tools have and already do exist with minimal success. The ability to detect if a single file is malicious or not does not qualify for the title 'antivirus'. It would be a good exercise to practice your coding skills in a constructive way. |
