License or No License - Chevy - Dec 17, 2019

How many members here have their drivers license? How long have you had it?

If you don't have one, is it because of your age or have you had it suspended through court? Some other misfortune?

I haven't ever had a drivers license. Not even a permit. The courts started suspending my license for 6 months at a time and I never even once had it.

How can they suspend a license you don't yet have? I do have a license for a few years now.

Please, explain to me. I've never understood how it was possible and to this day in still fathomed.

All in all I owe over $3000 before I can even take the test to get it.

RE: License or No License - Seagulls - Dec 17, 2019

I had a licence as soon as I was legally allowed at the age of 17. It is such a valuable skill and has opened many doors for me. I have only ever had one speeding ticket and that went to court as I did not respond to the letters. I had a good lawyer guy sort it out for me though.

I nearly had my car impounded though as in England was have something called a Section 59 where if police detirmine you're driving anti-socially twice during one year they can take your car. I had two section 59's but thankfully they were over 1 year apart so they couldn't take my car. My car has been seized and impounded before though, but for another matter lol. I got it back with no fine.

I try be a good boy and drive safe now.

I am implying you must explain not us. I don't get it, not making much sense.

It's pretty crazy how traffic laws differentiate between different countries. The Section59 thing sounds ridiculous as well. Here, if you get a 3rd traffic violation (speeding, no light(s), etc) you'll become a habitual offender and they'll take your license for 5 years. (First habitual offense)

I know what you're implying, I'm not able to give you that answer though. I've debated getting a lawyer and disputing it, but I can't afford that either.

5 years?!?! That is insane. What country is that? Don't answer if you don't want to ofc. I defo couldn't survive not driving for 5 years. I feel like that would encourage people to drive without a licence of they were banned for so long.

This is America. State of Florida to be exact.
To be honest, everything about this state is twisted. Even the weather, which is more bipolar than any woman I've ever met.

Had mine for 7 years now and 0 speeding tickets.

Damn I always wanted to go to Florida. I have an uncle who lives their with his American wife (he's English) but I was refused a US tourist visa. I'm from the UK but have criminal record so they won't let me in. I have to wait a few years before I can re-apply.

Good stuff man! Are you in your younger 20s or older? Don't have to answer.

I don't have any tickets either. I've been in an accident, but wasn't cited for it.

Believe me, you don't want to come here. Especially not my city. Everyone tends to believe that this place is so wonderful, but they've never been here for years at a time or grew up here. It's tragic. I hate it here.

Early 20s. I've been in an accident when I had my permit, but luckily no cops were involved and I just paid the guy in cash.

Bribery at its finest if I do say so myself. I'm guessing it was only just a fender bender?
