What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - eGod - Jan 16, 2020 So we all fail sometimes, but the more important thing is that you learn from your mistakes. What is the biggest lesson you've learned from a failure? I made a mistake recently, and I learned from it. A guy offered to become a partner of a project, and I paid $150 to become a partner of the project. It went fine the first days, and the deal was I would have 35% of all sales. We offered a service, and the guy who started the project and offered me to become a partner decided to do an exit scam on all the customers, and give me the full ownership of the discord server, therefore I was back with all the problems, and I had to refund a bunch of people he scammed for money when he didn't deliver the service he offered. I guess I won't join any projects in the future unless I have access to everything including the service that is being offered. RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - Herbert - Jan 16, 2020 My biggest flaw is forgetting to respond to people. To keep it short, I forgot to text back a buddy of mine for a week. He stopped communicating all together, left everyone and everything. Fast forward one year, I received a text from him saying he was sorry, he got addicted to drugs and was severely depressed and that's the last I heard from him. And I can't stop but blaming myself for it, That's my biggest regret. RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - Omniscient - Jan 16, 2020 I suppose it's that failure doesn't define me. I'm sorry to hear that. Being in drug abuse it extremely difficult and so hard to be in. Anyways, it's a human failure that you forgot to text him back. I forget to text back people every day and for a lot more than a week. Hope everything ends up being well. RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - Boomer - Jan 16, 2020 When I saw the thread title and author before I clicked I was hoping you would say what you said. I read that stuff the other day in the scam reports and was not impressed at first with your response of not being liable for the service going wrong. I’m glad you owned up to it. Good job taking responsibility. RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - James Burnham - Jan 16, 2020 Joint ventures are very very risky. I really avoid them. I haven't done any big mistakes lately, apart from considering getting into webhosting reselling. Thankfully though I figured quickly how bad of an idea it was and cut my losses. This is generic but true, unless you let it ofc RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - Omniscient - Jan 16, 2020 (Jan 16, 2020 11:48 AM)Boomer Wrote: This is generic but true, unless you let it ofc It was a rather generic question. Cliches are often truths told in simplest form. RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - [dot] - Jan 16, 2020 in the past year, i was offered a promotion to moves on new works places, but i did reject it because i still got some unfinished side job project here. I regret not to accept the offers and takes the lesson that opportunity will not comes twice. Good job taking responsibility. I know it was just a sad situation. Right now I'm waiting for his response so I can refund the money he paid Xan (the other owner). But I am taking responsibility for the situation. And will never get myself into such a stupid situation again. (Jan 16, 2020 11:44 AM)Omniscient Wrote: I suppose it's that failure doesn't define me. Failure is an event, not a person. There are things that you and only you can do. Things that will never be done if you do not do them. https://margiewarrell.com/your-failures-dont-define-you-your-response-does/ (Jan 16, 2020 11:47 AM)Burnham Wrote: Joint ventures are very very risky. Indeed it is. But I had to make that experience before having any knowledge about it I guess. Sounds interesting, why is it a bad idea? RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - Django - Jan 16, 2020 That I don't need drugs to be happy, or feel good. I was at a very low point in my life, about 4 months into being sober, and I got my friend to buy me a hit of acid from a rave cus I didn't want to wait for it to come through the mail. The guy there told him it was double-dosed, so it would've been about 400 mcgs (tabs are about 200 mcgs on average where I live), I took the whole tab and had ego death. It taught me a whole lot about myself, and it made me not scared to die, but want to live, and build my life out, without having drugs or "friends" dragging me down. Pretty insane, really. I never thought it was a real thing cus I'd tripped on shrooms hundreds of times before, both low and high doses. I wouldn't suggest looking for answers in drugs, but in my case it got me out of a slump, pushed me to better myself, and I've been rewarded for my hard work by meeting the love of my life, with a newfound motivation to continue to work on myself, and to lead a better life. RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - hayesh - Jan 16, 2020 I learned reputation matters on the internet RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - Vеrt - Jan 16, 2020 My biggest failure was not investing the $5,000 loan I pulled, into bitcoin. I bought a 1992 Miata instead lol I remember like it was yesterday it was October of 2016 Edit: I got the loan to invest it into bitcoin but backed out and bought the car RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - Bulma - Jan 16, 2020 failure is just one step closer to success RE: What is the biggest lesson youve learned from a failure? - Nate - Jan 17, 2020 DUI, ended uo in jail for 24 hours for no reason, they didn't let me post bail. |
