New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Slim - Jan 16, 2020 So yesterday my roommate came into my room with my empty protein bottle that I had thrown away in the trash. He got mad and told me that I needed to recycle it and I should have put it in the recycling. I shot him the dirtiest look I’ve ever shot anybody in my life. And I was like Yep OK. He got the message and walked out but on his way out shouted “it’s not supposed to go in the trash. “ - My thing is this. I know, I know. Recycling is great and all but when I am in a hurry in the morning And need to get to work the last thing on my mind is reaching up for the recycling bin that’s on the shelf high up rather than just throwing something in the trash. What’s more, This is my first week living here and he had only mentioned in passing that the recycling bin was up on the shelf. So I am annoyed because honestly it’s my stuff. If I wanted to burn this garbage and it was legal to do so then I could do that. I really don’t think he gets to tell me what to do with my stuff or how to deal with my stuff. Like yeah sure I will use the recycling bin now but honestly how dare he tell me how to live my life or what to do. I’m definitely entitled to do whatever I want with the stuff that I pay for. Thoughts? I know I’m an asshole. But am I wrong? RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Bob White - Jan 16, 2020 Nobody has the right to tell you what to do in your own house as long as it does not hurt anyone else. Ignore him and enjoy your life. RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Slim - Jan 16, 2020 I also want to add that this kid is a walking Reddit comment section. Every opinion he has he gets from Reddit and it’s like he has no original thought. RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Vеrt - Jan 16, 2020 Honestly screw that dude. You're not wrong at all. I don't recycle at all, mainly because it's not a thing where I'm from. But it's your trash, your problem. RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Bob White - Jan 16, 2020 If he has a problem kick him out, or find your own pad, it sounds like you can pay the rent without him, might be time to branch out. RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Mullet Muscle - Jan 16, 2020 Tell him to get the fuck over it and worry about himself Those that worry about what others do live a stressful and unhappy life. Worry about yourself and you'll be straight RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Grey - Jan 16, 2020 I don't think you're in the wrong and he's probably mildly overreacting. He should probably put the recycling bin on the ground right next to the trash bin if he wants it to be utilized. If you did it again after that, then maybe you'd be in the wrong lol RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - scam. - Jan 16, 2020 Jesus christ just recycle you autist. RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Thrift - Jan 16, 2020 I think both of you are just stressing over some bullshit. Tell him to knock it off, and you recycle your shit. Talk it out, hug it out, shake on it, I don't care just stop being ALPHA males to each other 1 week into living together. RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - Mr. Robot - Jan 16, 2020 Yup you're in the wrong. You moved into their place and should follow their house rules as far as recycling/rubbish goes. You're filling their trash up with your shit. If you want to throw it in the trash, do it - but not in their trash. I hated when my old flatmates would throw pizzaboxes in my bin and fill it up. RE: New Roommate got mad at me. Am I in the wrong? - SIM-3257834 - Jan 16, 2020 This is how you get trash cans that over fill, when a lazy asshole doesn't recycle. RE: New Roommate got mad at me.
