Why people mistake brains for souls? - JustDevyThing - Jan 17, 2020

like man, your whole consciousness, subcosnciousness, personality, thoughts, everything is in BRAIN, not in soul

why so many people mistakes brains for souls? and why do they think they will live for eternity if their soul goes to heaven.. once your brain is dead, its over.

even if there was some magical religious entity like soul - your soul wouldnt be you, as youre your brain. if soul leaves the body (assuming soul concept is real) then it means brain is dead.

if brain is dead then you cant see, think, feel, breath, and your personality and thoughts are gone as well

why people so carelessly throw words like soul and mistake it for brains?

I was having this exact thought either earlier or yesterday. I don’t think your brain is as important as your soul. As in your soul is there when you’re dead and lives forever. Your brain is just your temporary reality of this shit, to help you navigate through this.

lmao bro theres no such thing as soul and you will not live forever. sorry to burst your bubble but theres literally ZERO evidence of souls and eternal life.

People just cling onto whatever they can understand. The idea of a soul is a lot easier to latch onto than trying to understand a brain. I see what you mean, and somewhat agree. But I think there is more to our lives than a brain.

What's with all these "deep threads recently? Do you guys figure you sound like Einstein or something, and that your thoughts are something revolutionary? You sound like Stephen Hawking, and I don't mean that in a good way.

Except that they're not deep, and that there's no real substance behind what you're saying.

And the same goes for religion, but you don't see me making threads on my grandiose ideas. You're just repeating what billions of "smart" people have said before.

and they keep repeating it because the masses still believe in imaginary and unproven concepts

I think the idea of people having a soul is much less damaging, and in fact makes people more human, than religion. Why bitch about something innocuous that doesn't hinder you in any sense?

RE: Why people mistake brains for souls? - Nate - Jan 17, 2020

I like the idea of a functioning brain then a soul

RE: Why people mistake brains for souls? - Deany - Jan 17, 2020

Because it is their way to cope with death.
