China has currently put a travel ban in place for all Wuhan Residents and the airports are closed. Hopefully this gets contained but now we have to worry about if others been infected elsewhere which is very likely considering a case has been confirmed in the USA.

That's interesting, I'd never heard of it until now honestly.

Probably a lot, I was thinking about how all the ice is melting like what kind of diseases or viruses may be hiding under it. And as humans continue to explore more unexplored places I think that can increase the risk too.

10 million people quarantined at the same place, that must be a first?

Yea doesn't sound very promising with such a large quarantine. China which I think lacks on public health must also deem this a very large threat.

Good move by china thankfully, in the past a similar situation (SARS) outbreak they were lying to the public about infection rate and all that jazz

Only thing I can recommend is to obviously prepare

Buy air purifiers, be sure to wash hands thoroughly, disinfect surfaces and door handles, etc. Limit exposure to people as much as possible.

Too be fair these kind of "outbreaks" are practically always way less of a disaster than the panicked public makes them out to be... It's expensive to have a scared population and it's expensive to close down whole cities.

They don't and won't have a cure for years and a flu can spread world wide in less than 36 hours so I think precautions are necessary.

Sure, sure... Same with SARS, swine flu, monkey flu, bird flu and all other end-of-time happenings.

Either way, all I meant is it's a hard decision to shut down a city, especially when these outbreaks tend to be vastly over-hyped.

This needs more attention. Wuhan and 2 other cities are on lock down but they're already everywhere.
