B - Ratings, Contracts & Reputations! - Mr Kewl - Jan 26, 2020
I doubt I've ever written an appreciation post for Hackforums even though I love it, but here it is.
After trying to deal with HF members for past days I realized the system Omni has created is just amazing. I've been on the site for a long time, and I also am a Mentor which you'd think would make it very easy for me to deal. BUT the marketplace has become so mature than most traders thought twice before going first with me due to the lesser number of transactions I've done.
This wouldn't have had happened back in the days because of reputations points (popularity now). Any Tom, Dick, & Harry could get reputations very easily and would scam HF members but now everyone is so careful when dealing with each other, its just so nice to see!
Resetting reputations, making it the popularity, adding the B-Ratings has clearly changed how we do deals on HF.
I was very skeptical when Omni did this but looking at it in 2020 it all makes sense.
Kudos to Omni & Xerotic for this achievement.

Before B-rating were added the marketplace were a shitshow.
I remember in 2012, you could deal with someone with 1000 rep and you still wouldn't feel safe. I haven't been scammed once since the B-rating system were added. So that's nice.

Asides from the terrible joke I just made, I can agree with you, the system is very nice! Especially the feature that shows "unique members" under b-rating so you know it's not just a b-rating farmer with a friend/friends.
It's a beautiful system with very few flaws.

And you wouldn't know the reputations are because of dealing or free ebook giveaways or 10 cents giveaways..

tbh it was goin decent but got messed up with not allowing you to view scammers contracts now

I didn't know the trading's system without the b-rating, but sounds it's lot more safe, unless you start to deal outside HF 😝

That's something HF has always been against, because you cannot verify any transactions and then the members blame the site.
Dealing only on trade on HF is the safest thing to do.

It's a minor issue but still happens, seems like people still don't know (or it isn't clear enough for new members for some reason?) how to cancel a contract they mistakenly started and instead they open a dispute. Almost happened to me a few times and I know it happened before to other vendors.
Again, this isn't a big concern that needs any change since it gets resolved easily but still it happens more often than it should.
Other than this it is a really great system. Looks like the optimal solution for a market without escrow service.
(Also saw Omni's word about invoice and BTC payment. Looking forward to this)
This isn't just coding and developing this is a lot of time and thinking into this.

The contract system is one of the best systems introduced on to this site, there isn't really any issues that I can think of with the system except certain users that abuse it, but you cannot criticize something due to people who have to try and ruin everything. I have no idea if there are any more features planned for the contract system, but if there is I am looking forward to them as I know they will be great additions.

Honestly, it's fugging great. The only thing I don't like is when some users don't mark the contract as complete, but overall this is such a great stuff.

I remember my first contract with Simplicity! I was so anxious to go first and afraid of being scammed, but a few contracts later and here I am.. so far so good 🤝

Agreed I think it’s helped a lot of people from getting scammed well done HF team!
