What can I do to speed up the process?

Check this out, it tells you how many transactions are in the mempool and incoming blocks and stuff, it gives you an idea about why you transaction takes time to confirm.

I guess it's because of the current state of the market. You probably won't need to wait longer than 12 hours, 24 max.
