Socket Crashing - Omniscient - Mar 15, 2020 Seems that we're having some socket crashing. This breaks the notifications and convo features of HF. It also wreaks havoc with regular functioning like post replies and form submission. I don't see @xerotic@ on now but I think he did some file changes and may have introduced a bug. Likely this won't get 100% fixed until the morning. He's the JS expert and I don't want to touch this without first understanding what alterations he might have made. Sorry guys. If it keep crashing it will likely cause bugs all night. RE: Socket Crashing - SIM-1729678 - Mar 15, 2020 That sucks but it happens. We'll just wait it out 🙂 RE: Socket Crashing - rSM- - Mar 15, 2020 No problem Omni, you and Xerotic have done a great job so far with everything y'all have done. Keep up the good work fellas :) RE: Socket Crashing - BTB™ - Mar 15, 2020 No worries. We can wait. Cheers. RE: Socket Crashing - Dorrance - Mar 15, 2020 No worries as long as the hackuman game isn’t affected, I can wait. RE: Socket Crashing - Tesla - Mar 15, 2020 No worries man, thanks for the update RE: Socket Crashing - Blazin - Mar 15, 2020 (Mar 15, 2020 11:33 PM)Omniscient Wrote: Seems that we're having some socket crashing.  This breaks the notifications and convo features of HF.  It also wreaks havoc with regular functioning like post replies and form submission. Solid answer and smart decision. Hopefully xero can update whatever he's done and tweak it I did notice it glitching out a bit earlier. RE: Socket Crashing - 123 - Mar 16, 2020 Yeah I was posting a reply on a thread and it never got posted there. I thought the problem is on my end. Saw this thread and now I'm fairly certain why this all was happening. RE: Socket Crashing - Saul - Mar 16, 2020 You are being so candid with the details even though it is not mandatory. I just love it (Mar 16, 2020 12:21 AM)military Wrote: candid? He just shares the whole issue and not giving a vague update, that's what I like. Why is that a reason to contemplate my post lol RE: Socket Crashing - Dorrance - Mar 16, 2020 Well thank you, I’m on mobile atm and I think King Xerotic has fixed the issue Houston. RE: Socket Crashing - Bluffer - Mar 16, 2020 Ah that explains why I was thinking my posts weren't submitting. Hope it's fixed soon RE: Socket Crashing - Xerotic - Mar 16, 2020 No socket code changes were made in the past few days so a bug must have existed that simply took time to trigger. Luckily I was able to quickly spot an potential issue. A few lines of code later and the socket connection seems stable. Hopefully it stays online until morning when I can take a closer look at things.
