However, reservations expressed by Democrats Tuesday over various aspects of the package taking shape between Senate Republicans and the White House suggested that it could take some time to arrive at a bipartisan agreement that could pass both chambers of Congress.

The scramble for a deal comes while the coronavirus pandemic has ended everyday life for many Americans. On Tuesday, North Carolina’s Outer Banks took steps to begin restricting tourists and visitors in an effort to reduce travel and limit permanent residents’ exposure. The San Francisco area began implementing a “shelter-in-place” approach with residents, a tactic New York officials are also studying. Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel brand, meanwhile, begun furloughs affecting tens of thousands of employees as a global pandemic wears on large segments of the economy.

If you filed taxes last year and received a refund via direct deposit then you may get the stimulus directly deposited into your bank account, if not they will mail it to the address you provided on your tax return. If you have never filed your taxes in your life then you will not receive a stimulus payment.
