Wasn't scared before, but between my mom telling my entire family that we're all going to die and going fucking crazy the last 2 weeks, New York doubling it's infected since yesterday, and a whole bunch of other stuff, now I'm being told that the MILITARY POLICE are guarding the two main stores in my city. Everyone is buying guns and I guess there's being break-ins reported at local businesses & more armed robberies happen.
I live in a "rich white neighborhood" with virtually 0 crime that's so safe that people send their 5 year olds out to walk a mile to school every morning by themselves, and now the military police is guarding stores, all our restaurants, tattoo shops, bars, hair salons, parks, and events are cancelled / closed.
Also read something that the lethality rate in the US is like 57% or some shit?

random numbers being thrown around. my mom's out here saying 40%, my boss says 8%, news articles i see (from trusted sources) range from 1% - 30%, etc.

He's probably quoting the percentage based on "CLOSED CASES" which is low. Only 268 closed cases. In which the lethality rate is 60%

Do not let it scare you. Older people are the ones at high risk. For the rest of us it’s a really bad flu. It will take a long time to die out though. Also, with all the media attention. Expect lockdowns to last a long time.
