Set Reminder - Xerotic - Mar 27, 2020

You can now set a reminder to be notified at a later point in time about a thread. To access this feature, simply click the gear icon at the top right of a thread. From the dropdown options choose "Set Reminder". You will be presented with a calendar interface (mobile devices should revert to their native date input) to select a date. Just click the button to confirm the reminder and you are all set.

Here are some graphics to show you the process:

Click this gear:

Choose "Set Reminder":

Choose date and submit:

We are currently restricting the dates to be a maximum of one year from the date you set the reminder. The minimum date is the current day. We are currently processing reminders twice a day, so if you set a reminder for the immediate future, you will be reminded sometime between 0-12 hours from that point in time. You can only have a single reminder on the same thread at a time. Once you receive a reminder for a thread, you can set up a new one immediately. You can have multiple reminders as long as they are on multiple threads.

If you are having trouble accessing the page then you may need to clear your cache. There is one file that was updated that you may need to purge from your browser.

CTRL + F5 on that page or directly empty that file from your browser cache.

Thank you.

It's like you're a robot Xerotic like holy shit, I saw Omniscients reply to that suggestion thread literally when he posted it, I go for a nap and wake up and the next thing I see is you've actually added it, jesus... Good job man.

Oh don't you worry, that was the first thing I literally opened when I woke up, I love it and I'm so pissed I napped.

RE: Set Reminder - Astrogen - Mar 27, 2020

Nice addition, I saw this suggestion thread back then and now it's added real quick. I can now use this to remind myself a few minutes the check-in thread will get closed so I'll be early on the new check-in thread.

Well with the way the timing on this works, it isn't super accurate to the specific minute. For now it is more generalized towards the day. BUT depending on usage (if it's a popular enough feature) we can add some additional controls to get more accurate time periods.

Ooof, just checked it. So it's only for dates right now, would be really cool to see the time setting included 🤩 It's still awesome the way it is right now tho, thanks for that 💯

RE: Set Reminder - MavenGradle - Mar 27, 2020

Good feature to have to be honest. Especially in order to follow progression update threads like this one:

RE: Set Reminder - Tyr - Mar 27, 2020

This a nice addon, thanks. And yes, this will definitely help keep users more informed on important threads like the one Maven pointed out and a plethora of others, as well as for personal use. This will definitely help me out at least, because I often forget to follow up on many claims I make within posts/threads.
