4690k OC - Have i hit a wall? - TB12GOAT - Apr 12, 2020 Hey friends, hope all is well. I have had this chip since 2014 and never OCed it. I thought i would see what its capable of after all these years. I know this is somewhat of an old chipset, but i hope i can get some answers here. 🤣 4690k Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 NZXT Kracken x52 Questions: - Does my current OC look fine? - Would 4.8 be possible or did i hit a wall? Temps are low right now with my fans/pump maxing out at 80%, so i could possibly save a few C setting them at 100%. - I have the voltage set manually to 1.275v, why is HWmonitor showing 1.284v with a max of 1.296v? OCs i have tested: 4.5 @ 1.250:  3 hours testing temps low 50s 4.6 @ 1.250:  3 hours prime 95, bsod few hours after prime testing browsing the web. 4.6 @ 1.275: current OC 4.7 @ 1.290: bsod during boot 4.7 @ 1.3: system boots, idles fine, restart/bsod after a few cinnebench tests. Current OC: 1.275v 3 hours prime95 v26.6 Max: 63c Average: 59c Pic: Spoiler (Click to View) RE: 4690k OC - Have i hit a wall? - Breeze26509 - Apr 12, 2020 1. 4.6 @ 1.275 seems to be pretty good. I've been looking around on Reddit and some people can't crack 4.4 with 1.3v. I would run more stress tests like Asus' Realbench, OCCT and Aida64. 3 hours is a good start on Prime95, but you should run either Prime95 or Aida64 overnight just to be sure. 2. You might be able to pull off 4.7 at 1.35 but I don't think you're gonna get 4.8 without going higher than 1.35. |
