Growing a beard in lockdown - bevc - Apr 16, 2020

Yeah, bored. Question about beards and beard maintenance for anyone who has a beard, or who just feels like contributing.

The only time I've seriously had a beard in my life was a few years ago when I grew a huge bushy effer that made me look like Charles Dickens' opium dealer. Since the lockdown's started I can't be arsed shaving (my excuse to the missus is that I keep 'forgetting' to buy razors), and I've got a good bit of growth now.

I'm thinking I might like to adopt a sort of Jean Reno type of short-beard, how do you reckon you keep that in trim? Do you get guards on beard trimmers or something? A 'number 3', or whatever? Idk, the only time I had a beard I just had the barber trim it.

And yes, I know I could just google it or ask a barber, but I'm asking here instead.

on the pic it looks like no 3-4 , so yeah just get a trimmer and try 4, if too long downgrade to 3.

I decided to not shave my beard at all during the lockdown.

yeah you need guards for that kind of beard that's like a 3 wouldn't be a 4 and yeah u just go hard with it and remove the guard to line the beard up.

I've had a beard since i was 14 and had one down past my man nips and that's maintenance but what you're looking for is easy

Currently trying to grow a beard while I can because I know I have to cut it when I get back to the army. Leon is a great movie, that's a nice beard.

Yeah, I had a big long beard for awhile, probably came down to almost me nips, I used to get a lot of compliments on it but it was a pain in the arse to maintain, even though you're not shaving you've got to comb it, wash it, make sure you don't get food in it.......that's why I was thinking the more Reno-beard, because then all I have to do is buy a beard trimmer, and I don't have the beard-hassle or the shave-hassle, just the, uh, trimmer-hassle.

I keep shaving my beard just as usual and I keep it 3-4 mm long

Don't hold anything, it helps you create storage for later use

Uh, yeah, what I hated was when I'd kinda 'forget' I had a beard and I'd bite down on something........only to unwittingly get a bit of my moustache in my mouth as well. Like biting my own pubes (but not as impressive).

I'd always get paranoid that I had some bits of food stuck in my beard after eating lunch at work as well.

yeah lmfao constantly running ur hands through ur beard making sure u aint got pickles hanging in there or something.

even now with my beard trimmed up that mustache shit gets me have to trim it every 2-3 days otherwise it drives me mental

Man. My beard is like inches long at the moment. And yeah. Looks like a 4 in the picture. 3 will be too tidy. So try 4 first. I gotta get my trimmer out as well. Going to have an interview in the coming days. Video call of course.

Lmao, what you could do is use a video software that makes you look cleanshaved.
