just finished a few videos and articles on China, mainly about their economy.
What i stumbled over, among other things, was the notion that China has temporarily suspended the few environmental protections they had to allow factories to scale to 11, globe be damned, to get the production levels and costs to the best possible level, at the fastest possible pace.
Another interesting note here is that since international analysts cannot and do not really base their analytics on the official numbers coming out of China, (because why would they...), they instead base a good amount of their calculations of economic damage in china from this Crisis based on the pollution % drop in the country instead. Now with the few protections temporarily abolished and whatnot, this would allow factories to spew pollution levels to high heavens, which will also have the effect of masking some of the drops in the pollution levels that is used for these analytics by international bodies.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you view it as a smart decision by the CCP or do you think it in the long term will do more harm than good?

I think china's economy is quite weird and fussy.
But China also works with 5 year plans, which is quite unrealistic.

Hands down more harm than good in the long run. Sure it's rough now when factories, stores, borders, cities and everything is closed but it's a world wide issue so everyone has the same shit to deal with. They'll end up with an too much product compared to what can actually be exported since so many borders are closed. I mean sure, there's a backlog of product that they need to produce but that doesn't mean that the place where the product should be shipped is ready to accept any deliveries.
There's no reason for them ramp up the production with the cost of the environment, they have enough issues related to that already as it is...but hey, china is china and they don't care about the people.

this might be one of the best chances we are going to get any time soon. with the economy damaged and the country hurting in some way or form for the first time in a while, it might be enough to light the embers

This is a very smart move from CCP. They want to block the outside world of what is happening in China. It's a dirty game they play and pretend nothing is going on while trying everything they can to cover shit up. Do not forget the camps in China, they also tried to hide the camps and later they admitted it were just 'schooling' camps.
