So it is totally legitimate to scan on VT and try to reduce the detections there if you do not do anything malicious.

Also, uploading to VT doesn't automatically cause detections. You can upload steam to VT a thousand times and it still wont be detected.

Using confuser or crypting your application isn't going to make your application secure, you will still be able to gather the FTP details via the decompiled binary.
Additionally, someone can just sniff the network requests to your FTP server and gather the credentials that way.

More experienced hackers are looking for people like you, they will download your malware and sniff your ftp credentials and clear out all your logs.

You could create a PHP script that does what you need to do.

If you directly connect to your FTP script in your c# or vb.net application then your application is going to get hacked very quickly.
